ENGINEERING CONFIGURATION MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST needed for a contract opportunity with Yoh's client located in Charlotte, NC.

THE BIG PICTURE - TOP SKILLS YOU SHOULD POSSESS:

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- This position is responsible for providing leadership on one or multiple Major Projects within the Configuration Management Major Projects organization.
- This position is responsible ensure that all documents meet the quality standards set by the company.
- This candidate will work closely with management in monitoring the team's performance and production thru metrics and ensures that the project schedule is met.
- The candidate will help develop team members to ensure they consistently deliver the needed performance.
- The candidate will monitor individual team members and help with parsing out daily workloads.
- The candidate is the front-line for management including implementing new targets, performance metrics and processes as these are developed. The candidate is the communication link between management and the team.
- The candidate will disseminate information to the team and forward information to management in a timely manner.
- The candidate will work closely with his team members to resolve problems, produce reports, and escalate information to management as needed.
- The candidate will help to track, submit ideas and solutions to better improve the timing and quality of our work.
- This position requires heavy customer interaction; generally with construction, engineering, operations and maintenance staff members as well as record managers, sourcing and legal.
- You will be working with management and customers to ensure that work performance is acceptable, attending regular on-site meetings with generation customers, interfacing with supervisors and co-workers to ensure consistency and proper procedure implementation, and serve as a liaison to the customer.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- This requires a strong understanding of the entire life cycle of documentation for utilities, such as:
- Design drawings
- Vendor drawings
- Vendor submittals
- Equipment manuals
- Contracts
- Invoices
- Etc.
- This position requires a high level of skill in electronic data management (SharePoint).
- A proven track record of SharePoint experience is a must.
- You will be required to use, receive, retrieve, quality check, prepare, print, scan, and upload documentation, to both SharePoint sites and LAN shares.
- The candidate MUST be proficient with Windows and Microsoft Office products with extensive use of word, excel, and SharePoint (Windows Explorer, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
- Travel and attendance requirements:
- Successful candidate must have and maintain excellent attendance record. Consistent 40 hour weeks are expected.
- Work hours range from 6 am to 6 pm. Work schedule may be changed based upon staffing and workload.
- Candidate must be available for two (2) or more -weeks of travel for training.
- Travel could be frequent (as much as 30%) in order to accommodate differing project loads.

This can include stays of 1-week at a time at a project site. Management will try to give as much notice as possible, but circumstances will arise where we may need you to travel immediately. Expenses should be submitted back to management upon completion of the travel duration. Local travels are expected to occur any day of the week

- Job Requirements and Education/Experience
- Minimum of three (3) years demonstrated experience supporting multiple, large scale projects and resource and records and information management program
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with customers who may not be familiar with project data, electronic data, technical tools, and records management processes
- Ability to take independent action and make autonomous decisions when necessary
- Broad understanding or ability to quickly grasp projects and tools (collaboration and filing needs, document types, site/corporate environments, current procedures, team energies, scheduling and budgets)
- Strong understanding of practices and processes of external and internal engineered projects with multiple supplier partnerships and alliances
- Proven ability to work with large volumes of data in a wide variety of file types across multiple Servers and collaboration applications/platforms
- Proven experience with construction engineering projects especially in tracking drawings and documents throughout the engineering and construction process
- Strong demonstrated customer service orientation
- Strong leadership skills and ability to work with limited supervision, self starter
- Able to lift up to 25 pounds
