Engineer Project Team Leader

DESCRIPTION:

- This is a dual role within the Quality and Reliability section.
- Most of this role will focus on software quality.
- In this role, you will help lead software process improvements across all of the software development teams.
- You also will gather and analyze software metrics in order to provide software health reports to managers of the software development sections.
- These software health reports should help drive action to improve the software development processes.
- The other part of this role will focus on APQP coaching and tracking for many NPI programs within AT&S.
- This would include assisting engineering teams with new content calculations, FMEAs, control plans, and all other elements of APQP.
- These NPI programs could be focused on electronic components or transmission components.
- Will be gathering and reporting on metrics to provide process improvement.
- Help to create new metrics using C, C++, and/or Agile.
- Candidate will be working on software quality along with APQP and FMEA.

SKILLS:

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

- Bachelor's degree in engineering required.
- Eight to ten years engineering experience required.

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:

- Creativity, verbal and written communication skills, analytical and problem solving ability.
- Team player and detail oriented.
- Ability to make sketches, engineering drawings and common computations.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawing, schematics and computer generated reports.
- Previous experience with computer applications and software related to engineering field.
- Candidate needs to understand software development, but will not be doing the development.
- An understanding of how software is developed is more important than the language.
