Engineer III - (Senior)

Yoh has a long term contract opportunity for an ENGINEER III - (SENIOR) to join our client, a world leader in the pharmaceutical industry, located inElkton, VA.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Independently design and execute FPLC protein purification experiments (AKTA/Unicorn) and apply the results to process development, optimization, and scale-up
- Apply their enthusiasm for the scientific process through planning, executing and analysing the results of laboratory scale protein purification process development experiments
- Operate pilot scale equipment to demonstrate protein purification processes
- Provide on-the-floor process support during technology transfer
- Analyze, interpret and communicate (oral and written) experimental results
- Prepare technical reports, summaries, memos protocols, and quantitative analyses
- Investigate, create and develop new methods and technologies for project advancement

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

- Master's degree in a life science or engineering field
- Five (5) years of experience in biotechnology or a PhD in a biotechnology field is required
- Experience in protein chromatography and downstream process development at laboratory or manufacturing scale (FPLC (AKTA/Unicorn), HPLC (Empower), Filtration techniques) is required while familiarity with cGMP operations would be preferred
