JOB DESCRIPTION

Must be detail-oriented
Flight Management System experience - they need to understand what a flight plan is (at a minimum)
Higher than average engineering ability in math
Ability to read code (Ada preferable, but others ok)
Highly focused/on task
Ability to follow detailed instructions and Self-starter
Willing to ask questions when they are unsure

Experience:
-Requirements writing experience, expertise and use in DOORS
-Experience in DO-178B Certification activities like writing LLRs, mapping LLRs to HLRs or HLRs to Customer Spec is a bonus
-Experience using (and/or Developing) Earth Models in Software implementations

(WGS-84 preferred, but experience with Spherical or other standard earth models apply.)
-This experience could come from Graphics rendering/display experience based upon Lat/Lon data (even ground-based), or preferably Embedded Navigation systems like FMS
-Demonstrated ability to solve/derive geometric solutions, and visually depict expected results
-Basic understanding of Flyby vs. Flyover waypoint transitions, understanding of holding pattern operations
-Familiarity with ARINC 424 Leg types (AF, CF, TF, VI, HM, etc )
-Familiarity with RTCA DO-236 (any revision)
-Familiarity with basic aeronautical navigation concepts (pilot ground school), SIDS, STARS, Jet Airways, etc.
-Demonstrated understanding of the mathematical challenges associated with North and South Polar area navigation.
-Familiarity with Navaids (VOR, TACAN, DME, ILS, MLS, GPS, etc ) and inertial systems and their role in present day navigation.
