Engineer

SUMMARY

- This position is focused on system controls development and on-machine testing/tuning for supervisory, electric drive, motor/generator, load control, and/or hybrid systems.

MAJOR JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Concept, develop and validate machine controls for construction/mining machines;
- Analyze machine performance data against requirements and operator input;
- Conduct machine testing and tuning to validate requirements
- Support and participate in the project management activities
- TRL reviews, issue resolution, documentation
- Research and analyze customer design proposals, specifications, manuals to determine time and cost feasibility to complete projects.
- Support and participate in validation activities with software, electronics, and machine business units
- Timely communication of results to customers, management and other process partners;

SKILLS:

REQUIRED:

- Bachelor's degree in engineering - mechanical, electrical, or computer engineering preferred.
- 10+ years work experience minimum or Masters degree with 3+ years experience.

WORK EXPERIENCE PREFERRED IN THE FOLLOWING AREAS:

- Experience with software development process using ClearCase version control;
- Experience with development tools, DATK, CadetWIN, Cat ET etc
- Experience with analysis software tools such as Matlab/Simulink. Programming experience in C, C++, Java, or html5 is a plus.
- Experience developing and validating machine performance;
- Construction/Mining machine application knowledge.
- Also must have high level skills using Microsoft Office
- Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio, creativity, verbal and written communication skills, and analytical and problem solving ability.
