Engineer

Successful candidate will collaborate with market facing engineering organizations to understand customer/business requirements, convert requirements into technical specifications and cascade to process partners, work with engine subsystem design teams to design and integrate components to meet the engine system technical specifications, and develop FMEA based validation strategies using proactive reliability processes. The candidate will also have design control for gas train components.

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Evaluate new products, processes, and systems.
- Research and develop new technology.
- Design and promote new components and sub-processes.
- Perform needed analysis and initiate ideas.
- Communicate results to customers, suppliers, team members, and other business units.
- Translate functional requirements into technical specifications.
- Develop FMEA based validation plans.
- Manage BOM and product cost for NPI programs.
- Collaborate with subsystem design teams and assembly operations to ensure that product meets all customer and manufacturing requirements.

SKILLS:

REQUIRED:

- Bachelor's degree in engineering.
- 10+ years engineering experience.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawing, schematics, and computer-generated reports.
- Previous experience with computer applications and software related to engineering field.
- Strong peer relationships with process partners and a solid understanding of engineering fundamentals.

PREFERRED:

- Gas engine experience.
- NPI (new product introduction) experience.
- Six Sigma experience.
- Engine performance experience.
