Energy Operational Risk Analyst - £45 - £55k

Our client is a global oil major, commanding a strong presence within the Upstream and Energy Trading sector. You have the opportunity to become a member of their Energy Operational Risk Team, responsible for regular interaction with commercial teams within the company to ensure that all aspects of their risk indicators are covered. This will present you with the opportunity to gain exposure to Back Office, Middle Office and Front Office teams of the organisation. This will allow you to influence key risk methodologies within the company, and gain ownership as to what recommendations will be made to the senior risk managers. Working closely with the Operational Risk Manager, you will assist with any reports or presentations that are required. Developing your managerial qualities, you may mentor junior staff and be in a position to influence and create risk strategy. You will cover predominantly Oil, but also Gas, Power and Carbon markets, as well as commodity derivatives. To be a successful candidate, you will have: * Education to a degree standard is required in a numerical or economic discipline * Practical and theoretical knowledge of different operational risk management systems and technologies within Energy. * Excellent understanding of the key principles and concepts of theUKenergy trading market, infrastructure and key players. * Experience of Excel and other modelling techniques, is also required.
