Employee Safety Manager/Portsmouth/Contract/£23.00 Ltd per hour

My client is a well established and respected market leader who is currently experiencing an ongoing period of growth and success. Due to ongoing expansion, they are looking to recruit an employee Safety Manager to be based out of their impressive operations in Portsmouth, Hampshire.

The role will provide management responsibility for ensuring business adherence to processes and controls set in place for the Management of Contractor Safety. In addition, the role will provide direction and support to management teams and the functional support areas.

Major Tasks and Activities:

1.Process Adherence - Ensure that all key stakeholders are adhering to the Management of Sub Contractor (SHE) process and that management controls are implemented across all projects and programmes.

2.Guidance and Training - As the SME develop and implement a comprehensive process briefing/training roll out programme using (as required) in house support from SHE.

3.Communications - Initiate update briefings for the stakeholder network where new procedures, deficiencies or lack of understanding have been identified. In conjunction work with the SHE team/Corporate Comms to develop effective Contractor Safety Management Communications Bulletins. These are to be issued at least monthly or more regularly if required.

4.Audits - Ensure that process confirmation audits are in place and that non conformances arising are investigated, actioned and closed out in a timely manner. Lessons Learnt from projects and programmes are captured and acted upon maintain a continuous improvement.

5.On site monitoring - Chair the on-site resident contractors forum ensuring minutes and actions are recorded accordingly.

6.Inspections - Manage the Workplace Inspection programme ensuring actions arising are correctly uploaded to the Action Tracker database. Conduct spot checks of on-site sub-contractor operations to ensure compliance and adherence to SHE standards working with contractors to provide company support.

7.Interfaces - Monitor the MoD's 4C's induction process to ensure it is complimentary to the business process for managing on site contractors.

8.Operational Support - Provide Toolbox talk briefings notes for the operational management teams. To attend if requested or as part of the spot check programme.

9.Deputise for the MSCM as required.

10.Develop and maintain positive, open and honest relationships with the Operational and Functional Management Teams.

11.Attend meetings on behalf of the MSCM as directed.

12.Any other duties and responsibilities that are reasonable and may be required from time to time.

13.Timely implementation of corrective actions as a result of "Safety" or other business non-conformances.

14.Conduct a minimum of 4 Workplace Inspections per year
