Role purpose:

As a key member of the Employee Relations (ER) team you will ensure the delivery of a professional and Strategic ER Service across the business portfolio. You will play a role in the implementation and delivery of the ER Strategy, which will be in line with the overall HR functions strategic priorities

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

To support the appropriate HRBP teams to ensure that the people strategy is being delivered across the function by providing a positive and strategic ER contribution.
To support/advise line managers in the handling of all employment relations matters such as disciplinary, grievance, harassment etc. from the point at which these matters become formal.
To ensure the integrity of all ER processes are undertaken by all employees ie that they comply with company policy and that they are properly and consistently documented. Thus ensuring that we have case files which contain all of the relevant documentation in a suitable and consistent format in order to be able to sustain any challenge from any source eg employees, legal, equal opportunities
bodies, ETs etc.
Ensure that all employment tribunal and employment law matters are dealt with across the function in line with company values and protecting the company reputation.
To provide support and/or advice to HRBPs and/or line management in handling people issues, advising and supporting the appropriate course of action.
To maintain the HR Case Management system (eg Neocase) with relevant documents associated to the case, and ensure the company agreed SLA's for case handling are delivered within timescale and in an appropriate manner
Analyse ER cases, recommend and implement the correct course of action taking account of the commercial consequences of the action.
To review and liaise with legal (and ER Partner as appropriate) on all settlement agreements ensuring that they are fit for purpose and consistent across the company
To support managers with training/coaching sessions/webex's, support at meetings and any other appropriate intervention to ensure ER has a positive impact with managers people development.
Work in collaboration with the ER team to ensure consistent service levels across the business
To lead and/or participate in ER projects as required by providing effective advice on end to end redundancy, re-organisation and change initiatives
Effective advice on TUPE cases
Driving proactive insight and learning's on how we can improve the experience and people management capability of their line managers to minimise negative ER exposure

Key Challenges:

Understanding and building key business relationships across the area which allows managers and HRBPs to be confident in ER as a strategic function.
Minimising the commercial impact of ER cases and understanding the business requirements for individual cases

must have:

Excellent understanding of HR policy and its application throughout directorates
Good knowledge of current and future Employment Law issues and how these will affect the organisation
Experience in dealing with Employment tribunals, their preparation and responses
Good understanding of HR policy and its application
Good knowledge of Employee Law
