EMPLOYEE RELATIONS SPECIALIST - CONTRACT - CANARY WHARF BASED

Bank of America Merrill Lynch is currently seeking to recruit a Employee Relations Specialist to join their Human Resources - Employee Relations function to be based in their offices in
Canary Wharf, London.

Overview:

The Employee Relations team is aligned to specific lines of the Business and works closely with the HR Managers for that Line of Business. The Employee Relations Specialist handle the complex disciplinary and grievance cases through to closure and provide additional support to HR Managers.

The primary function of the role is to provide advice and counsel to HR and Business Managers on complex employee relations issues and strategic ER related projects.

This role is based in Canary Wharf but the role may involve travel to other London offices (City, Bromley, Croydon)

Key skills for a Employee Relations Specialist:

* Deep subject matter expertise in the application of Employment Law, HR policy and process gained through working within an Employee Relations function of an Employment Legal Practice.
* Ability to build and maintain relationships throughout the organisation
* Knowledge of documentation/interview procedures for ER investigations
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Sound judgement in the handling of sensitive employee matters and enquiries.

Responsibilities of a Employee Relations Specialist:

* Work with HR Managers, HR Specialist Groups, Managers and Employees to resolve advanced and complex employee enquiries/issues; which may include:
-Disciplinary matters
-Grievances
-Redundancy processes
-Restructuring exercises
-TUPE transfers

* Represent Employee Relations with their aligned lines of business. Develop appropriate level of understanding of the business areas and their priorities.
* Hold regular routines with HR Manager Groups to ensure proper communication and updates regarding ER issues.
* Maintain professional understanding of the changing legislative environment to ensure that policies sand processes are reviewed and updated in time for changes.
