Embedded Systems Development Engineer

Systems development engineer - £35,000 - £40,000 - Suffolk The role: Software development in C/C++ for new products or new product features. Maintenance/enhancement of existing software products. Main Duties & Responsibilities: * Analysis of customer needs and requirements in discussion with Support and Sales teams. * Development of new and existing software modules in and individual or a team environment. * Diagnosing and resolving issues in existing modules and systems. * Work within existing frameworks. * Enhance existing frameworks. * Create technical specifications and test plans. * Learn and gain a good understanding of existing systems, ensure that new modules fit existing models. * Work closely with other staff and departments consulting them on the maintenance and performance of systems. * Investigate new technologies. * Work within a support role on specific product support as required. * Work directly with customers if required. * To undertake other duties as reasonably requested by senior management. Education, knowledge and Training/Qualifications: Essential: Qualifications: * A successful candidate is likely to be qualified to Degree level in Engineering/Electronics/Software or related discipline. Experience: * Visual Studio (2008/2010) * C * C++ Beneficial: * Borland Builder C++ (4, 2010) * C# * Technical understanding of written languages (e.g. Cyrillic, Arabic, Pictographic) * Interest/understanding of video/audio media. * Web interfaces/Web development. * Experience of systems operational 24/7/365. * Windows Embedded.
