Embedded Software Lead - Biotech

Responsibilities

* Manage software development projects and commit to project deliverables
* Write and maintain input documentation. Create concise requirements that comply with company and FDA medical device design processes, address stakeholder needs, produce predictable results and reduce development time
* Create software development plans that are tied efficiently with other teams, resources and schedules
* Communicate effectively with various stakeholders including managers, hardware engineers, software engineers, scientists, technicians, clinicians, regulatory staff and marketing staff on development plan, status, issues, and progress. Extract and clarify needs, use cases, and software requirements from multiple stakeholders.
* Deliver high quality medical embedded systems on time
* Engage Product and Quality Assurance team in development and release process

* Organize and drive distributed software development team to successful deliverables
* Lead multiple developers to meet project requirements and constraints using software engineering best practices
* Effectively interface with outsourcing teams by setting objectives and priorities
* Identify project risks and implement mitigations

* Contribute technically to the software design
* Develop high-quality system software architecture, design and source code
* Perform design reviews and code inspections
* Set up build and debugging environment and release processes
* Isolate and debug embedded software/hardware problems, effectively engage adjacent teams
* Support and maintain existing products including troubleshooting at the system-level
* Learn and apply new technologies and tools

Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in Software, Electrical, or Computer Engineering and 8+ years of related experience, or a Master's degree and 6+ years of related experience
* Experience in technical leadership or software engineering management
* Minimum of 5 years of solid programming experience using current programming languages (e.g., C, C++, Assembly, CSharp, Java etc).
* Minimum of 5 years of structured software development and/or Object Modeling Design experience
* Experience developing on multiple embedded platforms
* Good knowledge of software engineering principals
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
