Embedded Software / Firmware Engineer

Embedded Software / Firmware/ Systems Engineer - Contract Due to continuous growth of a midlands based client of Progressives we are currently looking for an Embedded Firmware Engineer to join an award winning R&D Engineering Team to work on a number of our electronic product developments. The Job: - Understanding the needs of the users of our products and the role of our products in the wider system. Capture the requirements in specifications which support validation and acceptance testing. - Combining the understanding of requirements, theory and technology to make sound design decisions. Produce creative and innovative design concepts through collaboration. Essential skills: * Excellent firmware and software design skills * Working with industrial design consultants * Low level Electronics Engineering * BEng (Hons) Electronics or software Engineering This role requires someone with a full understanding of not just the programming aspects of this type of role but also a more rounded appreciation of both firmware and systems design. Experience with radio communication type products as would experience with wireless / GSM /GPRS protocols.
