EMBEDDED SOFTWARE ENGINEER SEATTLE, WA 6 MONTH CONTRACT

Our hugely popular client is looking for an Embedded Software Engineer with a passion for cutting edge design. The candidate must be a highly motivated individual who is ready to jump in mid-design and help troubleshoot and write firmware for innovative hardware. This company is designing a robot unlike any other in this global industry that will change the way customers think about their products.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

- Helping to build an industrial robot
- Working with a small team writing firmware that supports a larger team designing and building the robot
- Designing and writing firmware for custom hardware based on ARM microcontrollers
- Reviewing schematics and contributing to the electrical design
- Troubleshooting firmware as it moves from development to production
- Communicating with team members daily about work progress and system design
- Working on-site, near downtown Seattle
- Perhaps travelling domestically, less than 10%
- Standing for extended periods of time as required

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- Fluency in C++ and C
- Solid understanding of bare-metal ARM firmware development where there is no operating system
- Solid understanding of Ethernet and TCP/IP network programming and protocols
- Familiarity with the GNU toolchain

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- BSc in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or a related field
- Five years experience working with firmware development on ARM
