EMBEDDED SOFTWARE DEVELOPERS are needed as CONTRACT Consultants for Yoh's client located in Rochester, NY.

TOP SKILLS YOU SHOULD POSSESS:

- Proficiency with C/C++ programming language and Object-Oriented Design (OOD).
- Experience with software emulators/debuggers.
- Execution of software development process in CMMI Level 3 environment.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- Perform Requirements Analysis, Design, Development and Testing of Embedded software. Candidate will need to follow defined development and process (CMMI-3) standards, including application of architectural standards used in Embedded radio product development. Candidate must be willing to rework requirements/code/design based on feedback from other software developers (via requirement/code/design reviews) and develop high-quality work products which are thoroughly unit tested prior to integration.
- Help develop and direct software systems testing procedures, programming and documentation. Perform wireless systems integration and testing.
- Provide technical support to internal customers.
- Execution of software development process in CMMI Level 3 environment.
- Perform coding and unit test of resultant software/firmware.
- Perform software/firmware component integration.
- Participate in and lead peer reviews.
- Identify, track and repair software/firmware defects.
- Support continuous improvement, process innovation and lessons learned activities.
- Design and implement software for Real Time Embedded systems. Perform design simulations and capture design specifications.
- Apply principles and techniques of software development, computer engineering, electrical engineering, and mathematical analysis to daily tasking.
- Analyze requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints.
- Consult with electrical engineers and other engineering staff to evaluate interfaces between hardware and software/firmware with consideration for operational performance requirements of the overall system.
- Able to lead a small team through research, design, and development of Embedded software/firmware systems, with close interaction with Hardware product development technical team.
- Mentor and supervise engineers.
- Help develop project plans, technical oversight, design, implement, test, and maintain Embedded software for Real Time control of advanced tactical radio equipment.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- BSEE, BSCS, BSCE required or equivalent experience.
- MS is desirable.
- Must have a minimum of seven (7) years relevant industry experience with Embedded firmware.
- Must have a strong firmware development background.
- Proficiency with C/C++ programming language and Object-Oriented Design (OOD) required.
- Experience with software emulators/debuggers required.
- Proficiency with multi-threaded design and/or Real Time operating systems is required.
- Experience with Flash file systems, XML, networking protocols and/or Ethernet switching.
- Experience with wireless communications systems is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of IP Networking and Wireless Networking desirable.
- Experience with Freescale iMX6 processor desirable (eg Board support packages, driver development, hardware development, and/or JTAG Emulation)
- Experience with PCIe desirable (Software and Hardware)
- Experience with Freescale Kinetis K61 or K65 (ie Embedded software utilizing the Freescale operating system.)
- Experience with Telelogic DOORS and SmartBear Code Collaborator helpful.
