EMBEDDED CONTRACTOR LEAD SANTA CLARA, CA ONGOING CONTRACT OPPORTUNITY

We need a Lead Tech to be responsible for daily operations and communications between one of our major corporate clients and CompuCom techs. This candidate will provide 1st level support and act as the direct primary point of contact for the team.

- Learn the agreements processes and provide a conduit for that information to the field technicians and CompuCom management

OVERALL IT EXPERIENCE (PER COMPUCOM/INTEL SKILLS MATRIX): 6+ YEARS (PREFERRED)

- Ability to manage a team of 10 technicians, coordinate and delegate tasks to balance workload and utilize the team efficiently
- Highly proficient in Linux/Unix administration
- Competent in supporting Windows systems (OS install and networking, Event Viewer SW error checking, Active Directory basics)
- Strong working knowledge of server platforms (ie HP, IBM or DELL) preferred experience with blade enclosures
- Ability to troubleshoot non-standard HW and OS installation issues
- Ability to create, support and lead a team environment
- Ability to multitask, work independently and meet deadlines

RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THE LEAD ROLE:

- Lead by example, following processes and guidelines set forth by the client and CompuCom management for acceptable business practices and conduct.
- Provide day-to-day direction onsite to technicians with additional direction as needed by agreement BB key contacts.
- Assign tasks, roles and priorities to technicians based on agreement and working in accordance with site BB key contacts.
- Coordinate resource pooling/sharing within the team to improve utilization.
- Report any potential co-employment concerns to CompuCom Ops Lead and RM.
- Report any HR or safety concerns to an CompuCom Ops Lead and RM.
- Report escalations to CompuCom Ops Lead on issues and status of operations.
- Pass down all CompuCom and client processes and guidelines to local team.
- Participate in key contact meetings as required and or customers as appropriate.
- Coach, mentor and guide on a daily basis.
- Work to resolve issues (technical or otherwise) and find solutions.
- Conduct weekly heartbeat meetings with your team.
- Review reports weekly to follow up on gaps and drive improvement. Report can be reviewed bi-weekly if site is within 90% of goal.
