Embedded C++ - SC Cleared - Bournemouth - £35 -£40p/h A leading Defence company based in Christchurch has a new requirement for an Embedded Software Engineer for an initial 3 month contract. Purpose of Job A vacancy has arisen for an Embedded software engineer within the Special Projects department as a result of a newly contracted task. The task requires the upgrade of a bespoke product to house a new LCD screen. The key purpose of the Embedded software engineer role will be to carry out the full software life cycle in modifying the existing software to drive the new LCD screen. Key Responsibilities * Full life cycle software development in an Embedded environment from software requirements analysis to software integration and qualification. * Support to systems integration and test. * Support to production of user documentation. Prior experience required: Essential: * Full life cycle Embedded software development - Software requirements analysis, architecture and design, construction, unit test, integration and qualification. To include participation in engineering reviews, production of requirements, design and build documentation and software estimation. * Development in C++ language on an Embedded Microcontroller platform. * Development targeting an Embedded operating system. * Using configuration management systems. Desirable: * Experience driving LCD screens and interfacing with Embedded graphics libraries. * Development using WindRiver toolset and ARM 9 processors. * Experience using UML notations. * Experience using Serena Dimensions 9 or later. Due to the nature of this role candidates are required to have current UK Security Clearance.
