Electronics TechnicianFunctions
As an Electronics Technicianin the BE-CO-FE Section, you will participate in the installation, maintenance and operation of the CERN Accelerator control system. As part of the BE-CO-FE section mandate, this work covers all electronics components and fieldbuses used for the on-line control and data acquisition of Accelerator systems such as power converters, beam instrumentation, radio frequency, cryogenics, etc.I n this role, you will:
Participate in the implementation, installation and maintenance of the fieldbus networks used for the control of the CERN Accelerator complex. This includes:
* The complete chain of Accelerator synchronization signals
* The WorldFIP infrastructure used for the control of several LHC critical systems
* Various fieldbuses used across the entire Accelerator Complex
* Participate in the renovation of these fieldbus technologies. This covers the following domains of activity:
* Feasibility studies, planning and integration of new equipment in the existing infrastructure.
* Methods and tools for improving the operation exploitation of these large networks.
* Operational support and usage of state-of-the art Q&A principles.
* Provide CERN-wide operational support to the equipment groups for all aspects related to these fieldbuses.
Qualification required
Higher technical diploma in the field of Electronics, or equivalent. *
*Please note that preference will be given to candidates with the above-mentioned qualifications
The experience required:
* Experience in the design, installation and operational support of large control system infrastructures.
* Experience in working with Industry (electronics manufacturers).
The technical competencies
Installation, maintenance & operation of Control systems
Configuration and use of fieldbuses: RS422, Profibus, WorldFIP, Ethernet.
Configuration of digital and analogue acquisition board: processor boards, PC platform.
Experience in CAD software
