Electronics Systems Engineer - Space Project

I am currently seeking an experienced lead Systems Engineer to work with my client based in the Space Sector.
Some key information regarding the position is as follows:
Rate: €60-€75ph Dependent on experience
Duration: Until March 2018
Location: Antwerp area, Belgium
Start Date: December/January - interviews to take place this week and next
Key Information
The Client
My client is a well and long established Space company specialising in the provision of their own smaller satellites as well as collaborations with ESA on larger scale programmes.
The Project
This position relates to a satellite that is due to be launched by circa 2021 that is designed to investigate the interaction between the earth's protective shield (the magnetosphere) and the super-sonic solar wind in order to better understand space weather.
Therefore, this project involves carious pieces of equipment/modules that include (but are not limited to):
*Soft X-ray Imager (SXI) - used to study the interaction of the solar wind with Earth's magnetosphere.
*UV Imager (UVI) - used to observe and measure the aurora borealis along with identifying polar cap boundaries. Telescope will use a four-mirror design along with new filters.
*Light Ion Analyser (LIA) - on site measurement of ions in the solar wind.
*Magnetometer (MAG) - on site measurement of magnetic fields.
We are currently in Phase A & B, that are due to last until March 2018, with phase C & D to follow that should last until 2021. The project could therefore last longer than the initial 18 months (or so).
Skills & Experience Required
Due to the above, my client is therefore seeking candidates that can demonstrate the following skills & experience:
* Experience of Full life cycle development
* Current or previous experience of a lead system role (from a technical perspective rather than project management)
* Requirements capture (DOORS)
* Design phase experience
* Defining verification approach
* The module in question will encompass both mechanical and electronic components. An electro-mechanical background could be useful although this is more on the Electronics aspect.
Space experience and/or knowledge of ESA/ECSS standards is also required.
