Electronics Engineer

The candidate is responsible for the design, development and testing of new and existing DC-DC converter products to ensure robust deployment on applications.

Experience in the following areas:
Solid electronic design experience with power electronics, transformer magnetic design, different converter topologies and control theory.
Proven track record of robust DC-DC delivery and meeting tough timing targets.
Ability to design to current state-of-art best practices in terms of EMC, thermal, layout and robustness.
Experienced with the development cycle from specification, design, schematic capture, through to supporting the PCB layout, manufacture and assembly operations with clear instructions and guidance, to initial board testing and release.

You:
Must be a quick learner and a clear thinker with excellent communication skills and an attention to detail. Ability to quickly assimilate existing design information and reuse sections of existing designs where appropriate with the ability to customise and adapt where necessary.

The following skills are required:
Power electronic design for DC-DC power conversion with detailed knowledge of different, high efficiency, converter topologies.
Ability to mix power electronic design with DC-DC converter control elements.
Proven track record of taking electronic designs from specification through to unit testing and initial application.
Knowledge of how to optimise the power switching design in terms of efficiency and also from a layout point of view to control parasitic inductances to minimise voltage overshoot and ensure stable and controlled switching.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
The role requires a talented engineer with a strong track record of high voltage DC-DC converter and power electronics design. The successful candidate will have practical experience of converter topologies to maximise efficiency and package density.
