Electronics Engineer

The Engineering organisation are looking for an engineer with a strong electronics hardware design engineering background & broad knowledge in the scientific instrumentation or medical devices industry.

The successful candidate will be joining an innovative R+D team looking to make a change in their designs/industry.

The majority of the role will involve FPGA design (VHDL / RTL) followed by analogue / digital board design & practical board bring up, test and evaluation in the lab.

Skills / Knowledge:
- Ideally a degree or equivalent in a relevant subject (e.g. electronics engineering) HNC/HND considered
- FPGA design using VHDL (xilinx spartan or altera devices) - main focus
- Proven electronics circuit / PCB design ability (analogue and digital)
- Use of appropriate simulation,synthesis tools and design tools - e.g. matlab, quartus, - maxplus, hyperlynx, synplify, modelsim, cadence, mentor, orcad etc)
- Knowledge of some of the following - thermal management, DAQ, actuators / pumps, motor drives, and / or electromechanical systems, high speed serial comms would be useful
- Able to display innovative and creative design ability
- Also display a flair for problem solving as well as a practical approach leading to stable & easily manufactured designs
- Aid procurement & manufacturing engineers to release final products

This position would suit a creative, proven engineer from industry sectors such as medical devices, scientific instrumentation, biomedical systems
