ELECTRONICS ENGINEER (SUSTAINING)

The Sensor and Electronics development section of this multi-national company is seeking a contract Electronic Engineer to work in a sustaining engineering role for the Development Department. This role will involve you in a variety of engineering tasks, both in identifying and implementing engineering changes to our established tool and surface equipment designs, and bringing the design documentation to current standards.

The role will suit an experienced professional Electronic Engineer, who is capable of working independently, and who is comfortable working with analogue, digital and Microprocessor based designs.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Much of this role will be to design and implement changes to equipment to meet CE EMC and Low Voltage Directive requirements. Knowledge of these requirements will be an advantage.

- Practical and theoretical knowledge of analogue circuit design and verification.
- Experience of reading and understanding circuit schematics.
- An appreciation of Microprocessor/Microcontroller system design and programming.
- Experience of computer aided circuit schematic and layout tools.
- Ability to work closely with other Design and Manufacturing Engineers and Project Managers
- Good time management skills and the ability to juggle multiple activities.
- Technical document preparation - test schedules and procedures.

REQUIREMENTS:

- Team player and self-starter with the ability to operate without detailed work direction.
- Good practical knowledge of Analogue and Digital electronic design and engineering.
- Ability to communicate with engineers at all levels, both in an R&D and a manufacturing environment.
- Must currently possess all the necessary work and residency permits to work in the UK and preferably EU.
