Electronic Trading Production Engineer - F.I

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled Fixed Income Electronic Markets Trading Engineer to join a global investment bank as part of the team responsible for supporting, managing and enhancing their in-house and 3rd party toolset used in both development and production environments.

The Engineer will manage and maintain development and the environment as well as working on the development around automation, monitoring and other general production support scripts. They will pro-actively monitor and improve availability/performance as well as working closely with other teams to respond to incidents and resolve issues.

Technology environment:
- Server OS: Windows 2003/2008 & Linux Redhat
- Production Tools: Blade Logic, ITRS Geneos, Splunk
- Scripting/Language: Shell, Python, Ant/Nant, WSH Scripting
- Database: SQL Server, Oracle 10g/11g
- Workstation: Windows (XP professional)/Win 7
- Development languages: C#/C++, .net, Java

Knowledge/Skills/Experience Required:
*In depth knowledge of Linux and Windows
*Ability to troubleshoot issues
*Monitoring tools: practical experience in monitoring tools with preference: ITRS Geneos
*Deployment tools: practical experience in deployment tools. Bladelogic
*Experience in Scripting: Windows/Shell Scripts, SQL queries, Python, Perl
*Databases - exposure to or skills in SQL Server and Oracle
*Good project management skills. Tasks management, prioritisation, risk management
*Advantage if familiar with web server management/configuration, IIS, Apache
*Experience in release management
*Understanding of application life cycle
*Appreciation of production processes, including change and release management
*Good incident and problem management skills, with knowledge of ITIL beneficial
