Electronic Design Engineer

Yoh has an excellent twelve (12) month contract opportunity for an ELECTRONIC DESIGN ENGINEER to join our client located in Erie, PA.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design electronic circuit cards, including layout and component selection, that are physically, functionally, and environmentally compatible/interchangeable with existing product inventory and compliant with all associated requirements and specifications.
- Create and/or clarify requirements, specifications, drawings, and validation plans based on existing designs in production at current suppliers and using available drawings/purchase specs
- Create circuit topology, hardware design specifications, validation procedures, and execute testing.
- Support new suppliers development and/or qualification of equivalent components
- Execute Design Engineer ownership on New Component Introduction (NCI) process to qualify the new suppliers components
- Qualify Components for:
- Functionality, manufacturability, environmental, and reliability requirements.
- Support the integration of components into locomotive and off-highway mining truck systems.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- B.S. in Electrical or Electronics Engineering or similar degree
- Must have at least three (3) years of experience in an engineering position
- Circuit card design experience along with VHDL knowledge
- Experience with the design of analog and digital electronic circuit cards, including PLD and processor based cards
- Experience qualifying components
- Experience with integrated product teams

PREFERRED JOB SKILLS/EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE:
- Previous experience in an Electronic Design position is preferred.
