Electro/Mechanical Test Engineer

Hourly Rate: �12.92 PAYE/�16.84 UMBRELLA

My client is looking to increase its head count of Electro-Mechanical Test Engineers due to an increase in order levels.

The role involves the following:

* Ensuring safe and correct testing of gas abatement products
* Leak/decay testing on gas, fuel and liquid lines
* Electrical (PAT) testing of components
* Electrical and mechanical fault finding using schematics and mechanical engineering drawings
* Fault finding to component level and re-work
* Complete final test, build and calibration of machines prior to final despatch
* Document control using test report and schedule.
* Recording and reporting issues during the test process

The minimum requirement would be
* Understand and be able to read electrical schematics
* Follow P&ID
* Basic fault finding
* Use of basic test equipment - DMM, current meters
* Electrical bias but with some mechanical knowledge
* Understanding of Pneumatics, pumps, inverter functionality
* 5s, lean manufacturing, kaizen, continuous improvement

Preferable skills for this role
* Ability to design and construct test equipment - test rigs, switch boxes, pipework etc.
* Electrical qualification
* Take on and generate test documentation / procedures
* PAT testing experience advantageous
* Training others
* Software testing (with guidance from software engineer)
* Good eye for detail
* Able to work with minimum supervision.
