Electrical Train Installation Design Engineer

The job spec:- Minimum of 5 years experience in the modification of existing rolling stock, but in particular must have experience of the following:

- Able to Produce electrical installation designs for the implementation of GSM-R cab radio's or similar systems (ERTMS, Public Information, CCTV, WiFi, etc) to pre-determined standards and best practice.
- Able to Produce supporting electrical design information (Electrical Risk Assessments, FMECA's, electrical protection calculations, earth bond calculations etc)
- Knowledge of driver controls and general cab layouts
- Able to Specify electrical equipment required (Relays, MCB,s, switches, cables etc)
- Able to perform Vehicle surveying
- Able to produce survey reports for review/approval by the client
- Able to Produce Bills of Material, installation instructions etc
- Vehicle Maintenance and Overhaul Instructions
- Current experience of CAD systems (AutoCAD preferred)
- Awareness of depot procedures and site safety
- Overseas travel may be required
- Clean driving licence
