Electrical Technician

My client is a privately held Aerospace company that designs and manufactures aerospace solutions for both the commercial and defence markets with a current focus on long endurance surveillance aircraft.

They are now looking for take on a number of experienced Electrical Technicians for a 9 month rolling contract.

The Role:

To carry out electrical engineering work on air vehicles against an agreed production and/or maintenance programme. Work on specific projects within budgeted costs & timescales whilst maintaining the product in accordance with all Quality and Airworthiness standards.

Qualifications:

*Apprenticeship or equivalent training qualification (eg BTEC, Ordinary National Diploma, in Electronic/Electrical Engineering & NVQ LII & III Aircraft Engineering Maintenance).
*Military training qualification for aircraft repair, operations and/or maintenance.
*A formal qualification in health and safety such IOSH Working safely.
*Qualifications in the use of powered access equipment (IPAF) and lift planning (LOLER) are desirable.

Key accountabilities:

*Air vehicle build and modification tasks including (but not limited to) installation of wiring looms and equipment.
*Work with the relevant Production engineers to create work packages as required.
*Liaise directly/work closely with the Electrical & Avionics Design Department to resolve technical issues.
*Testing electrical & avionics systems and sub-systems, fault diagnosis and rectification work.
*Carry out commissioning and performance testing of those systems using prepared test documentation.
*Removal, installation and replacement of Locally Removable Items (LRIs), electrical systems/sub-systems and other equipment.
*Assist with component and system inspection tasks as and when required.
*Flight-line maintenance and flight-line operations support when required.
*Work outside of what would be considered 'normal' trade boundaries (dependent on skill set) as and when required.
*Meeting or exceed quality requirements as defined within the company approvals, company & customer requirements and where applicable any other regulatory authorities.
*Delivery to agreed production programmes.
*The use and handling of tooling following strict tool control procedures.
*Alerting production management of any possible delay to programme.
*Ensuring cleanliness and tidiness of facility, equipment and employee facilities in accordance with FOD standards.
*Ensuring that all health, safety & environmental requirements are complied with.
*Ensuring upon completion of every engineering task stage that all associated job card documentation is completed to Company standards.
*Contributing to continuous improvement culture within production team. Supporting all business improvement initiatives.
*Highlight any tooling requirements to production management and if required assist with definition to facilitate procurement.
*Supporting the company's efforts to achieve and maintain Production Organisation Approval (EASA Part 21G) and Maintenance Organisation status (EASA Part 145).
*Support the business' to increase utilisation of ERP.
