Position Description:
Infotainment Head Units Project Engineer. Working within the Electrical Departments as part of the Next Generation Infotainment (NGI) team, responsible for delivering complex integrated infotainment systems to new vehicle programmes. The NGI head units are at the heart of the infotainment system. They interface with a significant number of other vehicle systems to deliver the required infotainment experience. This includes antennas for FM, DAB, TV, GPS, Bluetooth and WiFi connectivity plus a number of high speed data links including APIX2, USB3 and BroadR-Reach Ethernet. The successful candidate will be responsible for satisfying cross-functional dependencies across other departments, and ensuring delivery of validated hardware at a system level. Defining and driving workstreams within the Infotainment hardware commodity team in order to enable effective, efficient and pro-active team working according to programme needs. Responsible for delivering Infotainment core commodity gateway deliverables for applicable programmes and Infotainment core development to the required timeline and quality, including technical issues resolution and Manufacturing/Service requirements.

Skills Required:
Ability to deliver complex Engineering System commodities to a set timeframe.
Strong communication skills - ability to work as part of a small team and interface with multiple cross functional teams and departments.
Ability to generate and understand Engineering Specifications.
Motivated self-starter, able to act on own initiative in order to determine business & project priorities and plan & act accordingly.
An ability to solve problems of a complex nature with a vision to anticipate issues before they arise.
A full driving licence valid for the UK.

Skills Preferred:
Understanding of the Engineering Design Process (V-diagram).
Experience of Engineering Quality toolsets and processes - FMEA, Interface Analysis, Boundary Diagrams, 6-Sigma etc.

Experience Required:
Previous experience in working in design/development in an engineering discipline delivering an Engineering commodity to a fixed timeline and budget.
Project management experience - ability to develop a plan, execute and keep on track.

Experience Preferred:
Knowledge of automotive Infotainment systems.
Experience of specifying/verifying automotive electrical commodities.
Knowledge of toolsets and processes - GPDS, eFDVS, RMDV, AIMS, WERS.
Knowledge of High Speed data links - APIX2, USB3, BroadR-Reach.
Knowledge of ECU Diagnostics - Diagnostic protocols, routines and DTCs.

Education Required:
Educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant Engineering discipline.

Education Preferred:
Qualification in an Electrical/Electronic or Software Engineering discipline.
