Electrical Pre Operations Team Member

Our client is currently seeking a pre operations team member for a 12 month contract role based in Cumbria. This role is working 37 hours per week Mon-Fri.

Project Overview:
The FGMSP was built in the 1950s to provide intermediate storage of irradiated nuclear fule prior to decanning and ultimate reprocessing. It was closed in 1986 when operations were switched to the FHP. The building has since been undergoing POCO. Within the FGMSP complex the role of the inlet buiding was to receive all consignments of fuel by road/rail and then transfer the fuel from Magnox flasks into the pon via one of three cells. Some receipts, particularly Calder fuel continued after 1986. The inlet building also provided an export facility for bottled fuel which, latterly only cell 3 was operational, but was increasingly unreliable. Operations ceased in 2001. The building is old, deteriorating and contains dedundant plant and equipment. Generally the equipment infrastructure and environment was in poor condition but substantial funding has been spent in recent years to improve the asset. The Export Facility entails the upgrading of the existing inlet building structure to provide a new engineered export route, to enable skips of pond inventory to be placed inside flasks and exported toa receipt plant. The export project is located in a brownfield area where personnel access restrictions apply to radiological, environmental and security reasons. The extent of the Export Facility operations is to receive skips on the skip bogie on the bottom of the ramp (slips retrieved from Pond by seperate Retrievals Projects), place sklip in a flask within a cell and place the flask, containing the skip, on a flask transporter in the loading Bay (flask transporter and flask transporter operation by others) ie the Export Facility operations are exclusively within the inlet building itself.

Objective
Pre Operations team member providing CE&I (Control Electrical and Instruments) technical support as part of an integrated project delivery team.

Deliverables
Input to design and safety case development (operability, maintainability, commissionability) Preparation and validation of O&M instructions and training documentation. Maintenance assessment and compilation of schedule. Spares assessment and compliation of logistics arrangements. Technical support to project (including input to development work and commissioning test work) Assessment and adoption of learning Deputise for Pre Operations Manager

Key Skills
Completed a recognised Engineering apprenticeship or training scheme. Qualification related to Engineering discipline (eg HNC plus experience) Demonstrable technical understanding. Understanding of the safey case principles Demonstrable communication and team behavioural skills.

Pay Rate Details
£24.00-£30.00 depending on experience.
