Electrical Packaging Engineer

A ROLE HAS BECOME AVAILABLEAS AN ELECTRICAL PACKAGING ENGINEER WORKING FOR AN AUTOMOTIVE COMPANY IN BIRMINGHAM.

OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE JOB

- To work closely with the AE work stream giving Vehicle Integration Packaging feasibility and creation of electrical components.

Working with the design work stream creating section feasibility for electrical styled components.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES .

- Responsible for the Design and Component modelling and updates for all Electrical components._ _
- Responsible for the creating and updates of the vehicle wiring harness installation using Catia E3D packaging tool._ _
- Responsible for the A surface feasibility packaging for all styled electronic components and design support._ _
- Responsible for maintenance and release of all electrical components using the company PDM system Team Centre._ _
- Responsible for supporting all project packaging reviews representing Electrical.__

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED

- Significant engineering experience - at least 10 years experience within a Component or Vehicle Engineering function.
- Good understanding of the Design / styling process
- A sound specific component and system knowledge with a broad understanding of vehicle integration and the overall Vehicle delivery process, or detailed knowledge of whole vehicle product delivery and integration processes.
- Broad understanding of other technology subjects in the relevant team.
- Previous man management or lead technical management experience.
- Good IT skills & experience of appropriate software applications (Excel, MS Project etc.)
- An ability to operate across national and cultural boundaries requiring sensitivity and understanding but on occasions technical leadership in focussed skill areas. Able and willing to travel and provide coaching
- Knowledge of change management activities and processes
- Excellent communication skills at all levels within all functions including board level.
- A flexible, positive, enthusiastic, open minded and committed attitude, and able to deliver in difficult and changing circumstances
- Excellent organisational & prioritisation skills.__

Design for Six Sigma knowledge or qualification required - full training will be provided by the company
