Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer

E&I Engineer - Contract, on-going:

Triad Resourcing's client is urgently seeking an Electrical Engineer to join their team on a long contractual basis. Primarily you will be based onsite in the North West but will be required to travel abroad for 3-4 weeks at a time. This is the ideal opportunity for an E&I Engineer to gain further experience for this globally renewed company.

Primary Responsibilities
Electrical Design & Engineering of process plants within the food, beverage, personal care & homecare
industries.

Duties to include but not limited to:
- Instrumentation specifications
- Engineering specifications for electrical control panels.
- Management of control panel manufacturing liaising with suppliers and testing panels
- Liaising with suppliers & project team
- Engineering documents including Load/Motor Schedules, Hardwired Interlock Schedules, Emergency

Stop Philosophy & Electrical Installation Specifications
- Liaising with site and project team for the duration of the installation and supporting site manager during the installation period.
- Design of electrical loop diagrams, cable routes and layouts.
- Design of electrical containment and site supervision of electrical installation
- Electrical Commissioning of complete system & supporting process & systems engineers with product trials

Technical Knowledge:
- Ensure that all electrical criteria's are met from initial concept through detailed design, procurement, installation commissioning and handover as defined in the project documentation.
- A good understanding of the food, beverage, personal care and home care industries including all relevant regulations and certifications.
- Previous experience with hazardous area applications, zoning, calculations and installation.
- A good understanding of control systems (Such as Siemens or Rockwell), Profibus DP and industrial Ethernet networks.
- Ability to specify, technically and commercially appraise, recommend, select and source various instrumentation & electrical components.
- Panel testing in the UK & fault finding onsite
- Ability to design, install and fault find on PROFIBUS DP, ASI networks & HART/4-20m A systems.
- Previous experience with I/O checking, VSD configuration, setting up instrumentation & electrical

commissioning of process systems.
- End user operator & engineer training.

Qualifications
- HNC in Electrical/Electronic Engineering with relevant industry experience.

Experience
- 3 Years+ experience in the design, engineering and commissioning of electrical systems.
- Ability to attend client meetings and record minutes of the meeting
- Ability to design control systems from P&ID's & Process Data Sheets
- Specification of instrumentation
- Generation of project documentation (specifications, schedules and electrical drawings)
- AutoCAD & Microsoft Office literate
- Control Panel Design & Testing
- Installation supervision outside of the UK preferred but not essential
- Hazardous Area Calculations, design, Installation and execution
