Electrical Engineer/Technical Staff

Yoh has a long term contract opportunity for an ELECTRICAL ENGINEER/TECHNICAL STAFF to join our client, Varian Semi Conductor/Applied Materials located in Gloucester, MA

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Independent execution all project phases from conceptual designs through detailed design, prototype part procurement, development test, reliability test, and release to manufacturing.
- Application of engineering principles to understand system operation and affect design efforts outside of electrical engineering (IE: mechanical, software, physics, applications).
- Ability to characterize, analyze and troubleshoot a large, complex system, either in-house or at a customer site, using a "hands-on" approach.
- Delivery of technical presentations in support of product proposals and engineering reviews.
- Mentoring junior engineers
- Evaluation of system designs for cost and manufacturability performance targets.
- Design of analog/digital instrumentation circuits, control circuits, power supplies, motion control, data acquisition, high voltage (10kv - 800kv) and designing for EMC considerations.
- Documentation of electrical parts and assemblies for release into medium volume production systems.
- Knowledge of grounding and shielding techniques.
- Packaging of custom VSEA or off the shelf components into modular chassis.

Job Qualifications:
- BSEE or equivalent with a minimum of ten (10) years related experience.
- Knowledge of high voltage (100KV) design
- Circuit analysis software experience.
- High Level digital design language (Verilog, VHDL).
- Schematic capture and PCB design
- Laboratory instrumentation (Oscilloscopes, Logic/Timing Analyzers, DVM's) experience.
- LabView Software.
- Control Loop Analysis (stability, gain and phase margin).
- Robotics experience (motors, encoders, amplifiers, motor tuning).
- AVAILABLE FOR LIMITED TRAVEL WITHIN THE US, ASIA, AND EUROPE
