Electrical Engineer Job

ELECTRICAL ENGINEER needed for a CONTRACT opportunity with Yoh's client located in HOUSTON, TEXAS.

THE BIG PICTURE - TOP SKILLS YOU SHOULD POSSESS:

- Electrical Engineering and analysis and design
- Knowledge of surface components like UPS, cable reel, surface cables, sheaves, power calculations, etc.
- Product development and production design for Surface and Subsea control systems

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- Design and development of a Subsea Multiplex BOP Control System to include integration with electrical & mechanical systems, testing, maintenance, troubleshooting, and providing assistance to both internal and external customers
- Prepare, document, and maintain design documents, including test, installation, and troubleshooting procedures
- Participate in product development and production design for Surface and Subsea control systems
- Provide technical support to customers, manufacturing, sales and field services
- Execute, with guidance from senior engineering resources, the analysis, design, test, or integration required to define and support assigned components, assemblies or systems that meet business standards and program/product requirements
- Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures
- Prepare design certification documentation and work with third party certification bodies, such as ABS, DNV, IEC, API to achieve required design certifications
- Provide timely and accurate communication of status to team, technical lead, and management

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university
- Minimum of seven (7) years controls systems experience working knowledge of the complete design life cycle

BONUS POINTS! OTHERWISE KNOWN AS PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- Knowledge of subsea cables, connectors, data acquisition systems, etc.
- Knowledge of surface components like UPS, cable reel, surface cables, sheaves, power calculations, etc.
- Knowledge of remote I/O protocols such as Modbus, Profibus, OPC, etc
- Oil & Gas, Drilling industry experience
- Industrial control experience
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Quick learner, able to solve problems in a complex system
- Ability to focus on delivering results in a dynamic environment with aggressive deadlines and multiple priorities
