Electrical Engineer

IMMEDIATE NEED !!!.....Client needs 3 Electrical Engineers to join their engineering & construction project execution team. You need 1-5 years of experience supporting electric transmission, distribution, substation or power generation EPC projects. A BS degree in Electrical Engineering preferred (Civil or Mechanical also considered). You need to be local to the South Plainfield or Newark, NJ area.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Work as an Electrical Project Engineer in the Project Engineering Dept. within the Delivery Projects & Construction Organization
- Perform project engineering duties in support of outside plant T&D and Substation construction projects
- Report directly to the Project Manager and support the project management team on many areas on assigned projects
- Take site visits with the Project Managers and get a better feel for the work at hand
- Review design plans/drawings for constructability and develop necessary construction plans and schedules
- Assemble construction bid packages, evaluate bids and create/maintain contractor performance evaluation data base

REQUIREMENTS

- 1-5+ years of experience as an Electrical Engineer supporting power generation, substation or T&D engineering & construction projects
- Specific experience working on electric transmission or distribution engineering & construction projects is strongly preferred
- BS in Electrical Engineering
- Client is willing to review candidates who are recent graduates IF they have internship experience with a utility
- Any experience in cable and conductor ratings and impedance calculation parameters would be a PLUS
- Knowledge in underground transmission cable engineering would be a PLUS
- Familiarity with utility best practices, IEEE, ASME, NESC and NEMA Standards
