Electrical Designer

Senior Principal Electrical PDMS Designer needed in Houston, TX.. This is a long term contract opportunity.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- PDMS proficient, capable of design and modeling cable tray, electrical equipment and resolving clashes in PDMS, with little supervision or direction.
- Knowledge of all areas of electrical design, (i.e. One-lines, Area Classification, Grounding, Schematics, Cable Tray Plans, Power and Wire, Lighting, etc.) and responsible for production, review and supervision of deliverables for technical quality, accuracy and required compliance with client specs, codes, standards, etc.
- Provide leadership and technical support clarification and interpretation of task code and standards requirements for all electrical design activities on projects ranging from small brownfield refinery work to major grassroots offshore platform.
- Review, approve and or develop Work Share packages for assigned project with the Lead Electrical Engineer.

REQUIREMENTS

- 8+ years Electrical Design experience responsible for supervising teams as well as performing advanced, difficult and complex work assignments related to electrical design. 2+ years of recent PDMS experience, PDMS draft experience is a plus.
- Able to utilize Microstation, 2D CAD, and 3D Viewing CAD tools (PDMS and PDS). Petrochem and Offshore electrical design experience is required.
- Must be able to perform field surveys and transform data into CAD.
- Strong understanding of electrical design with general understanding of other disciplines' roles in the design process and completion of tasks and course of action in accordance with project procedures, specs, recognized applicable codes and standards.
