ELECTRICAL DESIGN ENGINEER (CAD/CAE)

Electrical Design Engineer (CAD/CAE) required by a highly regarded automotive company based in Lancashire. The right Electrical Design Engineer (CAD/CAE) will work on a long term contract basis, with CAD (Computer Aided Design) or CAE (Computer Aided Engineering) experience, designing electronic components in a computer environment.

YOU WILL HAVE THE FOLLOWING RESPONSIBILITIES:

- To work on new electrical systems and their application into the business, working closely with other business areas.
- To work with and manage suppliers to design and deliver cost effective value added electrical and wiring harness solutions.
- To produce right first time designs on multiple projects within timescales/milestones.
- To deliver CAD drawings ranging from Saber schematics and bundle drawings to ProE drawings
- To produce detailed technical specifications, development plans, and associated documentation.
- To utilise design analysis tools including system FMEA's and six sigma techniques.
- Resolution of development, manufacturing, or field service problems.

YOU WILL HAVE:

- Practical proven experience and working knowledge of electrical and electronic vehicle systems, ideally within a design engineering environment.
- Saber (Harness/Bundle/Schematic) and ProE experience or be keen to learn, with training provided as necessary.
- A knowledge of serial data communications (ie, CAN).
- Specific knowledge of truck (or related industry) electrical systems an advantage.
- Good communication skills - both verbal and written.
- Strong planning and organisation skills.

YOU WILL BE:

- A committed team player able to demonstrate project realisation from concept through design and into successful production
- Self-motivated with drive and initiative.
- Six Sigma or DFSS trained with experience of successfully completing projects (preferable)
