Electrical Design Engineer

Electrical Design Engineer - Residential Building Services - £30-35 P/H

I am currently recruiting for an Electrical Design Engineer to work for a leading building services contractor who specialise predominately within the mid-range residential sector based in London.

The organisation are a leading building services company who specialise in mid-range residential properties based in London. With a flurry of new and consistent business and a demand for mid-range residential properties in the London area they are now seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to join an already successful and highly regarded team.

With the plans and projects that the company have in place they have forecasted a substantial growth within the company with a view to building a strong permanent engineering team to work on some high end lucrative projects that are coming in, matching the work they did in developing the athletes' village for the London Olympics 2012.

Key responsibilities:

* Prepare and develop all drawings and technical documents from design conception and development through to completion and commissioning inclusive of technical submittals, schedules, schematics etc.
* Prepare cable calculations and selection, load assessment, containment sizing, breakers sizing and LV distribution within the Building, lighting design
* Strong experience and understanding of following systems: Fire Alarm, CCTV, Building Managements System, TV/IRS distribution, M-bus, Comms, Security
* Review sub-contractors and suppliers quotations to ensure they are compliant with Client's requirements and current regulations.
* Plan and manage input to CAD for production of design work
* Where required by project leader, take responsibility for specific areas of the design and project development
* Ensure the service and project work are carried out within the agreed deadlines and budget.
* Be responsible for maintenance of your own quality & consistency for your electrical engineering technical documents.
* Assist in compilation of final project documentation and safety file/submittal information, ensuring inclusion into Operation and Maintenance Manuals
* Work in close collaboration with other engineers, architects, project managers, suppliers, site installations and construction teams
* Attend internal and external review and progress meetings and design workshops
* Prepare and contribute to design development reports
* Ensuring quality and success of all designs and technical issues of the projects
* Attend projects' sites and works testing
* Maintain the company's confidential information policy
* Build relationships with all parties involved in the project and maintain effective team communication and cooperation for successful project completion
* Manage and monitor the workload of junior electrical engineer
* Assist other services engineers and estimators
* Ensure that practices, policies and services represent the client's and Cilantro's bests interests and keeping within current legislation, British Standards and codes of Practice, etc.
