Electrical Design Engineer

My client who are based in Hertfordshire have a requirement for an Electrical Design engineer to join them on a 6 month contract with a solid possibility of an extension.

The Role:

Responsibilities

-Liaising with Electrical Section Leader on design/drawing progress
-Produce practical and economic designs in a practical and economic form to suit customer requirements and meet tight deadlines
-Produce and check drawings on AutoCAD Electrical using company parts, sub-assembly equipment and sub-contract items
-Produce proposal electrical diagrams for tender
-Facilitate order achievement by interpreting electrical specifications
-Co-ordinate sub-contract work and activity, check drawings and BOM
-Take a hands on approach to aid contract progress
-Make decisions regarding costs and man hours
-Pass on technical advice regarding the sub-supply of equipment
-Work on ad-hoc projects and work overtime as required

Requirements

-HND/Degree - Electrical qualification
-Understanding of electrical circuit diagrams
-Knowledge of designing equipment/installations in the Oil and Gas arena
-Knowledge of PLC hardware/software design (Allen Bradley, Siemens, GE Fanuc)
-AutoCAD Electrical expertise
-Full Driving Licence
