Senior Electrical Engineer - Data Center Design London £65ph - £70ph - Contract

World leading IT company are looking for a senior Electrical Engineer for a 6/12 month contract located in London. The Electrical Engineer will provide solid engineering principles, practices and business acumen to data center design services to assure contracted Scopes of Work are developed, estimated, sold and implemented to meet the needs of the client.

Responsibilities

+ Provides solid engineering principles, practices and business acumen to data center design services to assure contracted Scopes of Work are developed, estimated, sold and implemented to meet the needs of the client.
+ Takes the lead in the design development process, breaking down the design tasks into manageable engineering segments and assigning resources to assure tasks are completed to the high standards required of data center performance for reliability and availability.
+ On intermediate and larger data center projects, acts as Project Manager as assigned on engineering design efforts, supporting the development of the sales pursuit materials, cost modelling, and scope of work development, and tracking tasks, costs and expenses through to completion to client billing.
+ Performs Quality Control and Quality Assurance functions on the final design package to limit errors and omissions liability issues, assure the Scope of Work has been competed as commissioned, and all client documents are ready for review and approval by the Engineer of Record.
+ Actively participates in developing, justifying and presenting design proposals to clients through the sales pursuit process, making client-facing presentations and resolving technical issues in proposals to the satisfaction of the client.
+ Works with the Professional Engineering staff to develop standard and custom design services marketed to meet client needs in data center assessments, analysis and development.
+ Acts as a trusted advisor to the client, performs high level technical and engineering analysis on data center facility systems, efficiencies, reliability and performance leading to recommendations which will improve data center availability and the ability to support IT critical processing systems.
+ Applies advanced subject matter knowledge to complex business issues, and is regarded as a subject matter expert. Works on complex problems/projects where analysis of situations or data requires an in depth evaluation of multiple factors. Exercises significant independent judgment within broadly defined policies and practices to determine best method for accomplishing work and achieving objectives.

Education

+ BS, or MS in Electrical Engineering and 10+ years experience in a data center, utility or manufacturing environment. Excellent communication and consulting skills.
