Electrical Design Engineer

There are two projects currently available, both requiring Electrical Engineers (Design or System level with Design).

Project 1
Required: A highly motivated and skilled candidates to become part of the Electronics Architecture Integrated Project Team (OPT) responsible for the electronics and electrical design and integration on the programmes within the Vehicles Business Area.
Researches, develops, designs, and tests electrical components, equipment, systems, and networks. Designs electrical equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for commercial, industrial, and domestic purposes. Schedule and task management skills required.
The candidates will provide task management of designated electrical and electronics engineering activities. Duties require working knowledge of electronics and electrical design. The candidate shall have further experience in working as part of a team of engineers, conforming to product development processes. The candidates shall be able to work to schedule, budget and performance targets in executing the electrical and electronics design processes.
The candidates will also provide data analysis, problem solving, vendor interfacing, and engineering support during the Demonstration and Manufacturing Phase. Candidates will work under the direction of the Electronic Architecture OPT lead.

Responsibilities
Candidates responsibilities include:
-Conduct the development of electrical designs/drawings for the integration of Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) and Military Off The Shelf (MOTS) hardware using standard interfaces including; LA NS, CAN, Serial and low voltage power. This includes basic layouts & drawings for integration in COTS and custom enclosures.
-Interface with external vendors and internal technicians on the manufacture of designs.
-Develop test schedules and procedures of bench and vehicle integration tests.

Required Skills
Electrical/Electronics design and experience of low voltage (DC) and high current power distribution.
-Distributed control and Interface experience.
-Working at system level, with suppliers/customers both internal and external.
-Able to work at unit level, with ability to understand and develop detailed technical trades.
-Product Development Process awareness

Desire Skills
Saber RD simulation experience.
-Experience with Def Stan 61-5 part 6.
-Practical electrical installation, harness and busbar design experience.
-Prior ground vehicle design, integration and field trial experience.
-Practical past experience with 28V vehicle power generation and distribution system.
-Knowledge of EMC, and power system design to minimise signatures (Electric and Magnetic field).
-Experience of working in a structured development process environment.
-Budget control
-Scheduling

Project 2

Project to requires similar skills as above with Electronics & Electrical Experience. However, due to the nature of the project, details of the work cannot be disclosed.
