Electrical Beamline Technician

Electrical Beamline Technician, Harwell Oxon, 3-4 Months £15 - £25 per hour LTD

Our client, a World class leading research facilitator, requires a Electrical Beamline Technician to assist with the installation of hi-tech equipment

As Electrical Beamline Technician you will be working on all electrical aspects of the beamline including racks and field equipment. It will also include installation of motors and electrical sensors for items such as vacuum, pneumatics, water flow and temperature monitoring. You will work with industrial control system, for cable terminations in vacuum and instrumentation.

The successful candidate will have:

The ability to understand and interpret electrical drawings, circuit diagrams and basic mechanical drawings
The ability to carry out a variety of light mechanical and electrical assembly tasks including soldering, crimping, cable assembly and rack wiring
The ability to use standard electronic measurement instruments including oscilloscopes and multimeters
The ability and initiative to get to the heart of the problem and take it effectively through to completion.
A good understanding of electrical safety practices for LV and HV low power circuits and devices.
Good IT skills - standard MS Office software
Good planning and organising skills
Good communication skills, verbal and written
