Elasticsearch code Audit and Infrastructure Review

Urgent short-term contract for our international organisation client in the Hague/NL.

A large-volume highly complex elasticsearch project is about to go live but there is an important CPU bottleneck(s) preventing a realistic scale-out of the system to all users. Therefore the organisation wants to commission an infrastructure audit and a validation by code review.

The audit will include the following mitigation points:

- make range queries more efficient by improving numbers look-up in the index; 
- implement caching of search results on markers level; 
- custom ES operation routing, to distribute the load smoother across the cluster

The work will be executed in 3 stages:

- ElasticSearch plugin and custom code review -  a systematic examination of the application code in order to improve general quality through early error detection, more efficient or better performing implementation alternatives.
- System Infrastructure Design;
- Solution Architecture Design.

We require a flexible, highly-motivated, problem-solving JAVA architect with experience in elasticsearch, Lucene, JSON, performance tuning, with code and infrastructure audit experience as well as the ability to write concise technical documents in English. The ideal candidate would have proven knowledge on complex search technology in the field of Intellectual Property (IP).
