Beacon Hill Technologies has a Client in the Cleveland, Ohio, area that is looking to staff an EDI Specialist on a long-term contract, with the potential to go Full time at some point.

Job Description: EDI Analyst
Maintain Electronic Data Interchange functions for Customer Operations, Accounts Receivable, and Traffic departments; support and promote Trading Partner relationships; monitor and maintain inbound and outbound electronic transactions and documents. Analyze reports to ensure optimal performance and make adjustments and  enhancements as necessary.

Job Functions
EDI Administration - 75%
1. Work with Customer Operations, Corporate Accounts,  Accounts Receivable, Traffic Department, and freight companies to maintain and promote high level of service to and from Trading Partners by understanding ISA#'s, qualifier ID's, Van usage, transaction types, transaction and version specifications, and ordering protocols.
2. Create and maintain bill-to and ship-to locations for Trading Partners in Oracle and Oracle Gateway systems.
3. Identify and make corrections to all errors in Gentran Integration Suite, Oracle Gateway and Error
Corrections programs. Communicate with trading partners how to correct future transmissions.
4. Provide analysis and troubleshoot when EDI solutions do not meet requirements. Research, analyze, and recommend solutions for potential interface problems. Make corrections to any envelopes or processes that may be impeding the proper flow of raw data.
5. Maintain, add, and delete the incorrect item numbers sent by trading partners in GIS item cross reference table.
6. Develop and maintain incoming and outbound ISA, GS, and ST envelopes for trading partners using Gentran Integration Suite (G.I.S.).
7. Modify and copy mapping rules as needed per trading  partner requirements.

Strategic Initiatives - 10%
8. Work with new and current Trading Partners to establish EDI capabilities and transaction sets.
9. Work with Client IT department to develop and implement new EDI transactions sets. Test new EDI
documents and functionality.
10. Stay current on EDI best practices and technology advancements by attending training, seminars and/or conferences.
11. Monitor industry trends and offer proposals for changes to improve services.
12. Meet with Client stakeholders to evaluate what business applications can be enhanced by an
EDI/E-commerce solution.

Analytics - 5%
13. Prepare and publish daily and monthly EDI reports. Prepare other reports as requested. Analyze reports to ensure optimal EDI performance.
14. Analyze EDI errors and customer inquiries to identify patterns of problems. Recommend solutions.

Training: 5%
15. Conduct weekly or bi-weekly training sessions with EDI back-up personnel to ensure they have a current understanding of the EDI procedures, order entry, and troubleshooting.
16. Provide periodic training sessions to Customer Service departments related to EDI, electronic commerce, troubleshooting, telephone, and internal procedures.

I-STORE ADMINISTRATION: 5%
17. Coordination of new i-Store account requests.
Maintain related Access database, create Heat tickets to create account in Oracle portal, and create User ID and password in Login portal.
18. Work with IT. and business units to address issues affecting Customers' i-Store
Working Conditions
Position requires sitting for extended periods of time.
Extensive use of telephone, computer, and other office equipment. Air and auto travel may be required.

Education/License Requirements

- Bachelor degree preferred.
- High school diploma required.

Experience Requirements

- 2-5 years business experience required.
- Strong understanding of electronic commerce standards as well as industry trends and protocols.
- Experience with Healthcare EDI systems: GHX preferred.

o Have strong/current experience with GIS (Gentran Integration Suite), ANSI x12 transactions (810, 211, 214, 856, 850, 855, 867, 997) and associated business processes.
o Software functionality of GIS along with a working knowledge of Oracle and Oracle Gateway is preferred.
o Experience with Ariba Network preferred.
o Experience with BizLink preferred.
o Familiarity with VAN mailbox setup as well as AS2, OB10, Inovis (GXS) and FTP protocols.
