Projektbeschreibung

Early Years & Foundation Teacher

The Job:

Are you able to ignite enthusiasm in others? Can you communicate your passion for Early Years? Do you believe that every child, adult, including yourself can be a life long learner? Following a recent good OFSTED inspection (February 2014), the governors, staff and children this school wish to appoint a full time class teacher TLR 2b with responsibility for Early Years (from September 2014 or as soon as possible after this date).
The school want our Early Years leader to be an outstanding teacher and a strong leader who is dynamic, inspirational and ambitious. They will have the confidence, clear vision and ability to lead strategically alongside the Headteacher, new Deputy and Governors to move our Foundation Stage to outstanding. The role will require the successful candidate to take a strategic lead in improving our newly established Foundation Stage Unit and to develop wrap around care and provision for two year olds. If you always aim high for yourself, the children and the community in which you work we would love you to visit us if you can and see for yourself if this school is the place for you.

The school, the child:

The school serves a wide geographical area. There is a broad social mixture in the school. Many pupils attainment on entry to the school is below the national average although the full ability range is represented. There are 167 boys and 140 girls currently on roll, plus the full time equivalent of 26 children in the nursery. There is a high rate of pupil mobility, for example, over thirty per cent of pupils have left or started at the school in the last three years. There are no pupils who have English as an additional language and very few from ethnic minorities. Approximately 36 per cent of pupils are eligible for free school meals, which is well above the national average. Twenty two per cent of pupils have been identified as having special educational needs, this is above the national average and 1.8 per cent have statements of special educational need, which is above the national average. The majority of pupils with special educational needs have moderate learning difficulties although a significant minority have emotional and behavioural difficulties.
