Projektbeschreibung

Role Title: E-learning Instructional Designer
Duration: 6 months
Location: Central London

Assignment:

Develops high quality E-learning content that involves writing code using specialist tools and software delivering robust and resilient training via the NCALT MLE (Managed Learning Environment) to support key legislative and regulatory police training.

Key tasks:

* Establishes aims and objectives of learning programme leading to creation of detailed learning outcomes based on industry-accepted standards
* Creates detailed Design Solutions documents, establishing how learning outcomes are met through application of recognised pedagogic principles and learning strategies. Shows how E-learning products blend into larger learning strategies of face-to-face, distance learning, immersive learning and game-based learning solutions
* Designs content in collaboration with producers, interactive designers, developers and testers
* Directs video, and photographic shoots with actors to a defined scenario to capture footage ready for post-production
* Edits audio recordings of voiceovers, ambient sounds and audio narratives to a required format for E-learning
* Define, create and influence E-learning design to achieve optimal levels of usability that includes screen design/layout/consistency and response times
* Provides regular updates on progress, risk and issues to Project Manager and Producer and attends regular project meetings to gather information and escalate issues
* Adheres to recommended coding standards and applies best practice for maintaining version control

Key deliverables and timescales:

* Understanding and applying technical knowledge to meet a variety of complex learning requirements
* Guiding and translating the established learning needs and performance changes into instructional design strategies for a learning solution
* Responsible for making the pedagogic and performance decisions necessary to provide a learning product that meets the desired performances for various audiences in the policing community from Initial Leadership to Gold Command
* Instructional design as part of an E-learning product delivered to meet specified learning outcomes
* Maintenance of scripts, supporting documentation, XML content and project-related documentation
* Recommendations on new learning technologies including benefits analysis and prototyping sample content
* Defence of the needs of the learner in face of competing drivers for delivery, SME and sponsor requirements
* Meeting deadlines specified by the Producer
* Duration of projects typically 3-6 months
* Limited interdependencies with other projects
* Without strong instructional design learning will not take place and policing performance will not change.
* The delayed release of E-learning impacts the reputation of the College

Qualifications required:

* Qualification in blended learning design, E-learning design and standard learning theory from a third-level body or industry equivalent
* Qualification: Degree level in learning design, teaching, language teaching qualifications and/or publication in learning/educational materials

Experience required:

* Experience in advanced creative and pedagogic skills in multimedia design, copywriting, editing and blended learning for static and mobile delivery platforms from known industry leaders in E-learning design and delivery.
