e-Instructional Training Developer

DESCRIPTION:

Seeking an experienced individual to conceptualize, analyze, design and develop technical training curricula, including course content and material. The Training Developer will participate in all aspects of design and development for both traditional and E-learning instructional products. A wide degree of creativity, flexibility and innovation is expected using knowledge of task analysis, instructional design principles and development methods.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE:

Collaborate with training management, service engineering, service operations, and field service employees to analyze and define training needs and design courses to meet those needs.
Determine instructional and delivery strategies and leverage technology and distance learning applications, where appropriate, to deliver state-of-the-art training.
Lead development of various types of technical training (classroom, synchronous, eLearning), following a structured process and utilizing instructional software.
Create project plans and execute according to schedule.
Establish & facilitate an instructor feedback process regarding course content and delivery
Create resource library and materials for on-demand use to facilitate continuous skills development.
Work with regions to ensure effective course delivery and access to course materials.
Design, create, and implement assessments that measure training effectiveness.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelors Degree in Education, Training, Communication, Engineering, or High School Diploma and 5 years of experience in Education or instructional design.
Experience with applying adult education principles, instructional design, and delivery techniques.
Experience in creating educational materials for adult learning. Demonstrated excellent oral & written communication skills.
Excellent time & project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects to meet established deadlines.
Strong technical writing skills and attention to detail.
Strong PC skills, including MS Word and PowerPoint experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Master's Degree in training development or learning technologies.
Demonstrated experience in instructional design within a technical environment.
Previous experience telecommuting.
Knowledge of technical products, preferably Life Sciences and/or IT related.
Ability to travel up to 40% of the time.
Strong knowledge of adult learning theories and how they impact instructional methodologies.
