E&I Design Engineer

A leading company from the chemical industry is seeking to recruit an E&I Design Engineer to work on a contract based in Lancashire that is initially scheduled for 6 - 12 months.

The Role
This contract will involve the design, implementation and verification of safety instrumented systems.

Experience
You'll have a good all round electrical design and installation background with experience of control systems and instrumentation. Any experience with XIEC 6151, trip and alarms or the chemical industry would also be beneficial.

Responsibilities
*To provide a full instrument/electrical design service, meeting all legislative requirements.
*To carry out reliability calculations for safety instrumented systems (SIS) ensuring full compliance with all relevant codes, standards and EHS requirements.
*To work with a team of I/E technicians to deliver a defined programme of work to meet with site and legislative requirements.
*To explore, select and prepare full specifications for engineering items.
*Plan, organise and provide technical support for internal and external technicians during the installation, and commissioning of modifications or projects.
*To provide technical guidance and support to project managers and technicians
