DV Cleared Systems Monitoring Engineer

Role:

DV Cleared Systems Monitoring Engineer (Live Services Engineer)

This role will be on a shift pattern- 24x7x365 i.e. shifts day and night and weekends.

Each shift will be 12 hours in duration. There will be approx 14 shifts per month.

The exact format is tbc and will be confirmed/ agreed once the contractor starts and is assigned to Team Leader

Duties and Responsibilities:

IT Operations

* Ensuring systems tasks and data backups are performed to agreed schedules and rectify faults to minimise disruption to service
* A strong technical ability covering a number of different technical disciplines required (Networking, Servers and Microsoft Exchange)
* Assist in the technical development of the existing teams

Monitoring

* Undertake reactive monitoring of hardware, applications and environmental conditions across several sites, using tools such as HP Systems Insight Manager (SIM), Operations Manager (OM) & Network Node Manager (NNM)
* Ensure an agreed level of service is provided to the customer 24x7
* Log defected faults

Service Restoration

* Follow operations procedure to ensure faults which cannot be fixed are referred to correct technical support functions

Out of hours (OOH) cover for other Live Services functions

* Service Desk Logging and referral of calls from users to the OOH IT Service Desk, using TSRM as communication tool
* Commcen Dealing with Information Control out-of-hours tasks (e.g. High Precedence data transfer)

Experience required:

Experience using tools such as HP Systems Insight Manager (SIM), Operations Manager (OM) & Network Node Manager (NNM)

Good knowledge of IT systems- Networking, Servers etc
