System Integration Test Analyst

Overview:

This Development Programme will develop multiple solution components which will interact in a common framework. The developed modules will require thorough testing both as individual components and as an integrated solution.

The Test Service will work across the Development delivery streams to provide a continuous testing service. This will follow documented test cases and scripts which mirror the business and technical requirements of the solution, through the standard test stages of Unit, System, Integration, Performance and User Acceptance Test. Non-functional requirements will also be tested throughout, including thorough DR testing.

Reporting to the Test Manager, the System Integration Test Analyst will work flexibly in support of the iterative development approach, where additional complexity if built upon an initial framework.

Duties & Responsibilities

* Define and execute Integration tests to verify functional and non-functional requirements
* Develop and maintain new and existing Test Automation tools (COTS and bespoke)
* Draft test strategies, test plans, test scripts and test completion reports
* Identify process improvements and contribute towards best practices for Integration testing
* Work closely with other technical testers and developers in support of wider test automation objectives
* Ability to work unsupervised and manage own time against given priorities
* Prioritise own workload when there are a number of simultaneous or conflicting activities

Qualification & Experience

* Minimum of 3 years in a testing environment, including 2 years working in a technical test environment
* Good interpersonal and engagement skills and ability to deal with stakeholders
* Ability to rapidly understand and become competent with unknown software and technology
* Experience writing software in relevant scripting languages e.g. Java, Python, C#
* Experience in test automation
* Good technical understanding of both Windows and Linux
* Experience with structured and unstructured databases i.e. Oracle, Hadoop etc
* Experience in a broad range of test design customisation techniques and principles
* Experience of risk identification and analysis
* Experience of successful delivery in complex, high risk testing projects
* Experience of different project methodologies, e.g. V Model, Agile and hybrids of the two
* Experience of test and defect management tools, e.g. HP ALM, JIRA, Bamboo
