DV Cleared Electrician

ELECTRICIAN - DV CLEARED - CONTRACT - GLOUCESTERSHIRE - GREAT RATES!

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing electrical testing, installation and maintenance activities on site to specified standards, whilst ensuring quality and delivery on time and within budget.

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES:

- Providing Fixed Installation Testing (FIT) of all Fixed and Portable Electrical Appliances within the communications community at UK and overseas locations to specified standards, whilst ensuring quality and delivery on time and within budget
- Work in conjunction with the SETS Team Leader in order to promote timely responses and resolutions to testing changes and issues for the duration of tasks
- To assist the Team Leader, to ensure that all electrical testing related documentation is submitted to the Authority on completion of all tasks; including method statements and risk assessments
- The production of electrical test certification on completion of fixed testing
- Ensuring that all systems are inspected and/or tested to the relevant electrical standards, as dictated by professional bodies, ensuring best practice is employed in all activities
- Rectify installation faults discovered as a result of the inspection and/or testing of equipment, replacing items as required
- Store results of tests and download into main database as appropriate
- To ensure correct calibration of equipment and that it is fit for purpose. Any equipment deficiencies are to be notified to the Team Leader
- To assist the Team Leader and/or the Team Deputy, where possible, to liaise with the Authority for notification of delays to ensure their expectations can be managed and mitigating actions put in place
- Advise as to potential engineering solutions to technical problems encountered during electrical inspection, testing and/or installation
- To ensure they work in a safe and efficient manner at all times
- Maintain the values of LEAN
- Ensure that all activities undertaken are in compliance with statutory/authority processes
- Ensure safe and cost effective use of machines, hand tools and facilities

ADDITIONAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

- Responsible, when required, for the completion of all documentation relevant to any task undertaken.
- Assist the SETS Team Leader to act as the prime Authority interface for the duration of all Customer activities.
- Act in a professional and courteous manner at all times.

- Accurate time recording and checking of returned hours
- Accurate return and checking of claims forms
- Healthkeep it looking right
- Standardise: everyone follows the same procedures

PERSON SPECIFICATION

KNOWLEDGE, QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Skills & Competencies

- Must possess good interpersonal skills and be able to form good relationships with customers and external groups
- Developed application in electrical installation field and departmental awareness
- Basic IT operating skills
- Basic IT installation skills
- Strong and positive attitude
- Requires good self-motivation and self-starting

Technical & Electrical

- Time served electrical apprenticeship
- City & Guilds parts 1 and 2 in Electrical Installations
- City & Guilds 2394/5 level 3 certificate of inspection and testing of electrical installations, and/or
- City & Guilds 2391 level 3 certificate of inspection and testing of electrical installations, and/or
- City & Guilds 2392 level 2 certificate of inspection and testing of electrical installations
- Working knowledge of electrical installations (Basic record of proven ability in related work)
- City & Guilds 2377-100 Portable Appliance Testing (PAT)
- Working knowledge of the Code of Practice for the In-service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment (4th Edition)
- IET 17th Edition Electrical Wiring Regulations 2008 (2015) Amendment 3
